Reflection

What two main considerations should be made when planning Creative Arts lessons?

The teaching /learning of Creative activities should be practical and learner centred.

Time management

Creative Arts has been allocated three lessons per week. The teacher is advised to plan for an average of 33 lessons per term. The remaining lessons should be used for giving terminal examinations and marking or assessing the learners work. As the teacher prepares a scheme of work, he/she should also make a year planner for Creative Arts activities. This should include Cultural festival days, Music festivals and days for presenting other classroom projects. This information should be availed to the learner so that they can prepare for the events.

When giving Creative Arts projects, the teacher should make clear guidelines so that learners do not waste time when gathering information. Creative Arts being a practical subject, the teacher is advised to ensure that he practices the various skills before the lessons so that he/she does not waste time trying to demonstrate.
